Dr. Bharat Desai has served the West Pasco community since 1984. Born and raised in Gujarat, India, he completed his postgraduate training at Wayne State University in Detroit before building a long career grounded in rigorous medical thinking and deep respect for the people he serves.
In 2012, he co-founded Family Medical Doctors with Dr. Nilesh Desai. Throughout his work, he has been known for blending science, compassion, and humanity, with a philosophy that medicine should never lose sight of the individual person in front of you.
Dr. Desai also founded and served as Medical Director of the Good Samaritan Clinic. Although now retired from daily patient care, he remains deeply involved in the mission, philosophy, and strategic direction of Family Medical Doctors.
His current interests focus on human biology, pathophysiology, the foundations of health, and education for both the public and clinicians. His writing reflects a belief that modern medicine too often drifts away from true scientific inquiry, and that better care starts by thinking more deeply, not simply following guidelines without question.
